Yeah. Also, there are languages that also have consonant clusters like English. Dutch has Slechtstschrijvend. Polish has Szczebrzeszyn. Georgian has Gprtskvni. All languages have a few weird words. It just that English has an absurd amount of them.
True
In my conlang ive limited the consonant clusters to a max of 3 consonants (and this can only occur in coda position). most of the consonant clusters are just 2 consonants (sk, pr, kr, fn, pk, pn, sg, etc.)
Also have you heard of ilothwii? its a polysynthetic conlang made by biblaridion (a conlanging youtuber) and it has absolutely ridiculous extremely hard to pronounce clusters (qthlgwlm)
Also, the conlang I’m making(Smāic) is a poly synthetic language but to prevent words from getting ridiculously long, base words are limited to 4 letters long. Also, I listened to the Illothwii video and the pronunciation is really hard.
I used to classify the pencil language (one of my conlangs) as polysynthetic but now that i look at it its more of just agglutinative with a tiny bit of fusional traits
Another weird word in English is DeKalb being said /Dˈᵉkˈæb/
Wait thats a word?
More of a name, it’s a county in Georgia, US.
Weird
I wouldve imagined it to be pronounced as /dɛkalb/
What do you think?
