In the creation of Anos, my conlang, I came across this: http://www.yorku.ca/earmstro/ipa/
Figured this would help anyone who struggles with IPA like I do.
Thank you! I mostly worked in private as of late, but I am currently working on some languages I'd love help with. I'll hang around chat.
Well, after a year my Conlanging skill has improved considerably but still, I would love some help with the finer details :D

Thank you all so, so, much. However, until my language is more developed, to the point where I can write sentances with it, then I doubt I shall be coming here to speak about it. thank you for all your help, I assure you it is not to be wasted.
Yeah, I still don't have it. I've been working on the language without the use of IPA, just using common-language comparisons, though I wanna change that BADLY.
Alright. I got a grip on phonetics, I think. I'll have to re-read a lot, though.
How do I start with the phonology? I'd like to get started there, but have no clue what to do. All the links I see are...fairly hard to understand. Like, I see the symbols but don't know how to say them.
Oh. Oh well, I get the concept :P
I'm assuming that's:
Subject, object, verb,
Subject, verb, object,
Verb, Subject, object
Object, Verb, Subject
Object, Subject, Verb
Wait, what? Six? Ithought of three when I was choosing that xD
"My dog is brown"
"Brown, my dog is"
"Dog of mine is brown"
Those were the three I thought of. What did I miss?
How do I go about making a page for my language and figuring out the phonology? I wanna get those down before anything else. And when that process is happening, all criticism is very welcome.
I got the grammar down. A sentance like "My brown dog is a hunter" would become "brown hunting, my dog is." I don't know what that would be be called in lingusitics, though.
Ah, I thank you. I like umlaut...it's just fun to say.
Thank you guys so much! I already got the basic phonology down, it's mostly based in English and other Germanic languages, with a bit coming from Scandinavia. I already know I'm going ot be using umlauts (I can't remember their Jargon name, but it's the little dots above a vowel) and the letter Å.
The working name of the language is Far Northern (cause it's spoken only by the people who live on the Northernmost part of my realm) but the moment I can, I'm changing that to what it would translate to in their language.
Alright...get ready to laugh.
I don't know the difference between nouns, verbs, and adjectives (never was focussed on at my elementary school), I don't understand most of the Jargon of Linguistics...and I want to create many different languages that have the same roots.
I know about Esperonto, and that got me into Conlangs. I already know a few basics, like circumflexes, phonology, etc. but...I still know nothing.
I'm a fantasy writer, and I feel like making languages would make my books seem more real and more interesting. I seriously, SERIOUSLY need help. Is anyone here willing to take me under their wing?
I'm a bit of a pathetic case, I know.
