Úphicanuçan is a descendant of Oubi Kanusa spoken in the nation of Cúndabon Tanda. Its 15,000 known native speakers are all plasmitroids of the house of Drancømenicen, except for a single family of trollspawn in the city of Menihau. It is believed a much larger number of trollspawn and other tribes were once native speakers of the language, but that they were driven out by an invading tribe known as the Menifú, briefly mentioned in the ancient scriptures.

The language is believed to have developed during the 131st century CE, slowly evolving from the eastern dialect of Oubi Kanusa. It isn't known how its speakers travelled to the remote universe the nation of Cúndabon Tanda is located in, but archaeological evidence suggests the country's oldest city, Hamonmenicøhau, may have been founded shortly after the language developed.

Complete History

Úphicanuçan likely developed from the eastern dialect of Oubi Kanusa sometime before the year 13,000, when the first written records of the language began to emerge. they were written in the Senacø alphabet, a script that was not known to the illiterate Oubi Kanusa speakers, and appears to have no direct ancestor. While the script superficially resembles the syllabaries used to write the Kantric and Valmarian languages, there is no known correspondance between the characters of Senacø and these scripts, and it's unlikely its characters evolved from those of these syllabaries.

The first archaeological evidence left behind by speakers of the language dates from around 13,051. Ruins of a now collapsed part of the city of Cúndabon Tanda were recently discovered, containing the first documents written in the language, protected from rot by Euchalcium canisters. The ruins were buried under what appears to be many layers of volcanic ash, which has perplexed archaeologists since there are and never have been any volcanos within 18,000 kilometers of the city. One theory proposed to explain this states that the ash was created by Puristactians, who emerged out of the ground, spewing volcanic ash and burying the city before returning to the underground cave systems. This isn't accepted by many historians however, as the Puristactians have never been known to inhabit the dimension in which Cúndabon Tanda was built.

Úphicanuçan experienced little change after its establishment as a language, the main changes it experienced being the adition of many English loanwords following contact with English (GA and Australian English) speakers.
