Žuqháń (dialects)[edit | edit source]

There are several dialects. The most important dialect is Ranínžon (from Ranín žuqhatéñgin, real language) which is also the standard language. The following table demonstrates the differences between the dialects.

  1. ['] is mostly used instead of [ˀ]. [ˀ] remains the only official way to write down this sound.
  2. Some sounds namely /l n r s x z ð ʃ ʦ ʧ/ can be pronunced long too, like /lː nː rː sː xː zː ðː ʃː ʦː ʧː/. Then they are written like [ĺ ń ŕ ś ẍ ź ḋ ṥ ć ṡ] respectively.
