Classification and Dialects[edit | edit source]

The Bujanski language (Janzyk Bujanski) is the official language of the island kingdom of Bujan. Its speakers, the Bujanski people or ethnicity, was descended from prisoners of war taken by the Sarmelonid Empire thousands of years ago, and who revolted against the Sarmelonid authorities before founding their own realms. Led by their founder-king Koschei the Red, the ancestors of the Bujanski captured a chemistry centre at an island in the far west, establishing their kingdom into a mighty superpower.

External history[edit | edit source]

HorsesDrivingVans created the Bujanski language at around 2017. He based it on the Russian language, but also created his own words to replace the Greco-Latin and Turkic loanwords in the Bujanski language, and included the phoneme ѣ (æ) as a distinct vowel.

The country of Bujan itself was inspired by the legendary kingdom/island of the same name from Tsar Saltan, but it also has influences from futuristic science fiction, Victorian England, and 1950s art.

Hey, this arcade game is surely fun to play with!

I hope by Svetovid that we would survive those accursed polar raids.
