Classification and Dialects

Euxino is a Romance language spoken on the North shores of the Black Sea. Latin reached the region during Trajan's rule, when much trade was conducted there. Several Latin-speaking communities quickly sprung up, especially in ports. Eventually, Latin replaced the more commonly spoken Slavic language, but the language to-day known as Euxino has been influenced somewhat by the Slavs.

Pronouns

The Euxinian pronouns are very similar to the ones of Latin and of modern-day Ukrainian:

  1. Ja (zha)
  2. Tu
  3. Li, le, lo
  4. Mo
  5. No
  6. Si, se, so

Verbs

Verbs can be simple or compound. The simple verb tenses are the present, the imperfect, and the future simple. Simple verb tenses usually do not use pronouns, as they are implied by the conjugation. Compound verbs, however, contain the first consonant of a pronoun, which is placed between the root and the ending.

There are three verb endings: -ar, -ir, and -or. The ending for the -ar verbs in compound tenses is always -e. For -ir verbs, it is always é, and for -or verbs, it is always -u.

To form simple tenses, one changes the consonant of the verb's root. The imperfect always has a -v-. The future simple always has -ur-.

"To have" in Euxinian is abor, which is conjugated as such:

Abor Present Present Perfect
1. abo aboi aboje abome
2. aboa abou abote abone
3. abot aboe abole abose
