Classification and Dialects[]

A thought experiment if a Koreanic language had been highly influenced by Latin instead of Chinese i.e. if Sino-Korean vocabulary never existed in that language, but rather, Italo-Korean vocabulary. Set in an imagined world where Romans were capable of traversing Eurasia to at least interact with the Korean peninsula, preferably where some friendly natives of the peninsula opened up to displaced Roman soldiers and exchanged information about each other’s culture, instead of treating each other like ‘barbari’ and ‘orangkae’. Intermarriage occurs and the descendants of the Roman-Korean community associate themselves with this language, but the language has been rendered moribund through intensive efforts for assimilation.

Can be considered its own language, and not just a dialect due to its hugely differing set of loanwords. A Koreanic language nonetheless.
