I strongely recomend you use you "J" for the one you decied to put on "Y" because most societies think of Y as a vowel and J as that sound The Emperor Zelos 12:27, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

Using "J" for IPA /j/ is a Slavic habit and I dislike the sound of Slavic languages. English, Spanish and French use "Y". Besides, Nolikan has its own script and the Latin spelling is only a transliteration. Atreides85 13:50, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

Actually its not slavic its germanic aswell and it makes more sense "J" for /j/ than "Y" which is still a vowel in most languages hence a vowel in IPA aswell

and I know that is usual the case but when it comes to latin the rule is "Least resistence" goes, as in the most normal spelling for sounds should be applied if possible The Emperor Zelos 14:16, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

But "J" is already used for /ʤ/ Atreides85 14:27, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

Using c and j to represent /t ʃ / and /dʒ/ is commonplace in the romanization of indian languages, I'm not sure where this whole j should always be /j/ thing has come from. Greatbuddha (talk) 18:12, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

It came from Zelos' Swedish.
